Easter has officially landed at Janus Deli, and we’re celebrating with something a little unexpected (and a whole lot delicious). Introducing our Hot Cross Bun Donut Creations—a playful twist on the classic Easter treat, now available at both our Surfers Paradise and Molendinar locations from Saturday, April 12th until Easter Sunday.

Biscoff Hot Cross Bun Donut – A cinnamon-spiced donut filled with our housemade Biscoff cream and oozing with that iconic Biscoff sauce. It’s warm, spiced, and straight-up comforting.
- Pistachio Hot Cross Bun Donut – A cinnamon donut layered with pistachio ganache, dark chocolate ganache, and pistachio spread, topped with crushed pistachios and hiding tiny speckled Easter eggs inside. A luxurious little Easter surprise.
From the Creator: Why Hot Cross Bun Donuts?
We asked Dean, the brains behind Janus Deli’s iconic sweets, what sparked this year’s Easter innovation:
“Hot Cross Buns are such an iconic part of Easter, and we wanted to put a playful, creative spin on tradition. The idea of transforming something so classic into a donut felt both fun and a little daring — we weren’t sure how it would turn out, but the result honestly exceeded our expectations. It still captures the nostalgic charm of Easter, but with that Janus Deli twist.”
Why Biscoff & Pistachio?
Dean shared that the flavour choices were no accident:
“We wanted to bring something both familiar and exciting. Biscoff has that warm, spiced, almost cinnamony flavour that feels close to a traditional Hot Cross Bun — comforting, cosy, and perfect for Easter.
As for pistachio — do we even need to explain? It’s hands-down one of the trendiest flavours right now. Rich, nutty, and indulgent, especially when paired with dark chocolate and pistachio ganache. It adds a luxurious touch that feels festive and a bit extra — just how Easter treats should be.”
